What’s to love?

To trace the history of our Museum Rug Collection is to follow a path of the cultural growth of our organisation. Apart from adorning fine buildings, these rugs also serve as witness to history in the making. This collection is an assortment of some of the most famous rug art around the world, ranging from The Mamluk Rugs to A Turkish antiquity to Sultanabad Rug to A Persian Finesse. They are a testament to the great dynasties throughout history, and have been inspired by collections that hang in the museums such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and The Victoria and Albert Museum in London. These rugs are constructed in relatively high density of 300 knots/square inch. Carrying the Totem of our skilled weavers, these rugs are worthy of being included in the house of venerable carpets.

There are some tips and hacks that can ensure that your carpets are clean and ready to shine for the season.

Regular Vacuuming– Wool is a natural dust repellent. A regular vacuum of at least twice a week helps keep the carpet clean. Loop carpets are more delicate and should be vacuumed without a brush. In case any thread comes over the surface, do not pull it out. Cut it with a scissor.

Cleaning Stains— In case of drop or spillage in a carpet, put a blotting paper immediately over it which will absorb it quickly. To minimize absorption into the pile, press the spot from the sides for maximum removal. On tough spots, try with an equal amount of white vinegar and water. Club soda is the appropriate thinner for coffee stains and red wine; corn-starch for grease; the iron and transfer method for candle wax.

Avoid dust, dirt, and moisture— Wet carpets lead to mould and mildew growth. Further, wet wool starts rotting with bad odor. Ensure the proper aeration of the carpet periodically.

Deodorizer— If you like to deodorize your carpets, avoid chemical-laden options, and make your own with baking soda and a few drops of essential oils.

Storing— Keep a few pouches of silica gel in the roll to keep it dry while storing the carpet.

Protective Layering— For preventive maintenance, the carpet can be protected by putting on a layer of Fabric Scotchgard, once in three to six months depending on the usage.

The estimated delivery time is 7-10 business days after the payment of the carpet is received. You will be notified once your order has been shipped. Contact us in retail@obeetee.com if you don’t receive your order within 15 business days. Please not: This is applicable only for non-custom orders

Custom order: For a custom rug, the delivery timeline depends on the making time. The making time depends on the number of knots per inch, and size of the rug. To calculate, we can assume that it takes 1 week per 2 inches of a rug for a 156 knot rug. So for a 8 x 10 medium quality carpet, it would take us x months to make it.

International Shipping: For carpets in stock, it will take 3 weeks, and for a custom order, it would be time taken to make + 3 weeks.

Every Obeetee Product carries a digital fingerprint describing when it was loomed and where.

Even if your carpet contains over 200 knots per square inch and took six weavers a year to finish, our quality control experts are watching every step of the way. At the touch of a computer key, we can track its buyer, design, depot and loom owner’s name.

Progress is monitored on a real-time basis through all stages of production. Our in-house laboratory tests every shipment of wool and other raw material to ensure they meet our stringent quality standards. Whether it has been hand or machine spun, yarn from each dye lot is tested for color-fastness, light sensitivity, chemicals and wear. This focus on consistency guarantees a perfect rug.
